I sought Karen as an acupuncturist to help with spring time seasonal allergies. My introduction to acupuncture was through my daughter who went to see Karen for abdominal pain.    First of all, my daughter had been having pain for years.  She went to see Karen after having surgery for ovarian cysts.  Acupuncture was the only thing that gave her any relief.  In fact, Karen was the one who suggested that my daughter might want to check to see if she had celiac disease, which she did in fact have. Having seen my daughter's success, I decided to seek help for myself.

I was trying to find a new way to lose weight.  I had tried dieting before with limited success, and talked with Karen about whether or not she thought she could help me.  I was able to lose more than 60 pounds over the course of 15 months.  My main goal was to be able to climb Machu Picchu in Peru. Although I didn’t make it up the whole trek, I was able to participate to a significant degree.  In the end it was the altitude that kept me from going all the way, not the weight.
